		The self-gripping fastening system is the product of a longtime research and further development of a little natural mystery.  The Swiss Researcher Georges de Mestral (1907-1990) from Aubonne by Lausanne has discovered 1945 by pure accident  the extremely huge adhesion of the agrimony on his trousers. This discovery was developed from an odd novelty to an important industrial and consumer goods product and he took out a patent for the discovery under the name „velcro“ world-wide. Everybody who sometimes walks in the forest or climbs the mountains, knows the agrimony without any doubt. The small plant with many tiny hooks, that catch on every thread or every hair and don't let off any more, was the great pattern for a self-gripping tape. The two syllables of the protective mark, VEL and CRO (velcro), originate from the French words VEL(ours) = loop tape and CRO(chets) = hook. An international jury proclaimed the self-gripping fastener one of the 50 mostsignificantinventions of the20. century. The self-gripping closing system consists of two strong nylon or polyester tapes. One tape with the small strong woven hooks (named hook tape) and the other tape, covered with innumerable tiny knots (named loop tape). You press the both tapes together and they catch immediately on each other firmly with an astonishing power until you simply pull them apart again. And it can be repeated this way. This fastening tape can be attached at almost every kind of surface: at fabrics, plastics, iron, stone etc., at the flexible or firm material - it doesn't matter. Everywhere, where you usually use buttons, zip fasteners, glue, buckles or some other bindings, this fastening tape also fits  with many further applications. The self-gripping fasteners are applied in many cases world-wide. Between the Earth and the Moon we know more than thousands of different ways of appliance, for the textiles, room decoration, industry, ship navigation and health care.
